How we handle information about the people who send our gifts and the people who receive them.

Privacy at Basket & Bond
Every gift involves two people: the person who sends it and the person who receives it. This policy explains what we collect from each of them, how we use it and the choices you have.
It applies to basketbondgifts.com and to orders placed through it.
Information we collect
We collect information you give us and some information that is collected automatically when you use the site.
- Your details: your name, email address and phone number when you place an order, and your email address if you sign up for our welcome offer.
- Gift details: the recipient’s name, phone number, delivery address and delivery instructions, plus any gift message you write and any personalization you add to a piece.
- Files you upload: if you add a logo to be engraved on a piece, the image or PDF file you upload, kept with your order.
- Delivery photos: when we deliver a gift, we may take a photo of it at the door to confirm the delivery.
- Messages: what you send us through the contact form, through the message panel on our site, by email or on WhatsApp.
- Payment details: a confirmation from our payment provider and limited card details, such as the card brand and last four digits.
- Technical information: like most websites, our site and the services that host and protect it receive information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and the site that referred you.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- process your order and your payment
- assemble, personalize and deliver your gift
- send order confirmations and delivery updates, and reply to your messages
- prevent fraud and keep the site and checkout secure
- keep the records we need for accounting, tax and legal purposes
- understand how the site is used and improve it
- send marketing messages if you choose to receive them, and measure and improve our advertising, as described below
Gift recipient information
When you send a gift, you share the recipient’s name, phone number, delivery address and any delivery instructions with us.
Gift recipient information is used to fulfill and deliver the order and is not used by Basket & Bond for marketing purposes.
Fulfilling the order includes coordinating the delivery, keeping the order record and helping with any question about that delivery. Recipients are not added to our marketing lists, and recipient details are not shared with advertising partners.
Please share a recipient’s details only so we can deliver their gift.
Payments
Card payments are processed by our payment provider, Square. Your card details are entered in Square’s secure payment form and go directly to Square. Basket & Bond does not receive or store your full card number.
If you pay with Zelle, the transfer happens through your own bank, and we use the payment confirmation to match it to your order.
Service providers
We work with companies that process information on our behalf to run the store, such as website hosting, file storage and security, payment processing, email delivery and mapping services that suggest addresses as you type them at checkout and help us plan deliveries. They receive the information needed to provide their service to us.
If you choose to message us on WhatsApp, that conversation also goes through WhatsApp and is subject to its own privacy policy. A message sent through the panel on our own site does not: it is stored with us and used to reply to you.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our customers, recipients or business, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or sale.
Marketing communications
If you sign up for our welcome offer or otherwise choose to hear from us, we may send you emails about our gifts and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link where one is provided or by writing to us.
Messages about an order you placed, such as confirmations and delivery updates, are part of your purchase and are sent even if you don’t receive marketing messages.
Data retention
We keep order information, including any logo file and delivery photo attached to it, for as long as we need it to fulfill the order, help with any issue about it and meet our accounting, tax and legal obligations. Messages you send us are kept for as long as they are useful for answering you and for our records.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information, including encrypted connections, restricted access to our order tools and a payment form that keeps card details with our payment provider. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to records we are required to keep. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law.
You can unsubscribe from marketing messages at any time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the site, like your bag, may not work without them. Your browser, device and advertising platforms may offer settings to limit personalized ads.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. When a change is significant, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
